The 7 Seeds of Greatness

Are you the type of person who hears the word greatness, and gets goosebumps? Are you able to recognize greatness in others? If so, then you’ve come to the right place. A place for Greats in the making.

Seeds of Greatness

You probably already know, that you don’t have to be Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great, or Achilles to be Great. The idea that you must be a conqueror of nations, a powerful leader of the masses, a genius, or an all-star athlete to be considered great is a concept that is fading.

So, If you feel like you’re not on track to becoming the next Michael Jordan, Jay Z, or Albert Einstein, please don’t fret. Because greatness is so much more than what you’ve come to know.

Greatness is more than the examples mentioned above, it is something more than what we have all come to know, and we all have an abundance of it residing within us.

I want to suggest to you a new paradigm of greatness in this post. In other words, a different way of looking at it. A way that will encourage you to be more willing to strive for it.

Keep reading to learn about the 7 seeds or rules of greatness. Rules that you can begin to hone in on to help you unleash more of yours.

The Power of Extra Effort

Welcome to episode 018 of The Greatness Project. In this session, I talk about one of my favorite topics, extra effort.

The Power of Extra Effort

Extra Effort has been my secret sauce for much of my success throughout my life. No I haven’t made a bazillion dollars, YET; but, I have done some pretty cool and very unique things in my life thus far. I would venture to say, that I’ve had enough successes in various areas of my life to speak confidently on the subject. If I didn’t believe this, I wouldn’t be wasting my time, because I would be wasting yours.

They Said Walk Away

If you haven’t noticed, I am a huge student of success.  I’ve been studying success for a while now, for over a decade to be exact.

In my research and in much of my readings, I’ve always come across the following phrases; “walk away from the masses”, “leave the herd”, and one of the most poignant, “walk away from the 97%”.

There was a time when I enjoyed hearing such phrases.  I guess you could say they resonated with me on some level.  Probably because I’ve always felt this urge to be more than normal.

I imagine it is a tug or a subtle feeling you’ve experienced as well in your life.  You know, the feeling of being pulled or nudged in a certain direction, despite the path you’ve seem to have already chosen for yourself?

The consistent, yet silent reminder that we can be more than ordinary.  The voice on our shoulders that whispers, ‘you have the potential to be extraordinary.’

5 Lessons From a Self-Improvement Crash Course

Early in my professional career I had what every young aspiring professional usually wants, especially right after graduating from college. For starters, I was offered employment before my last semester had even officially ended.

Just three days after I walked the stage at my Alma mater, I found myself employed as a contractor with the U.S. Department of Defense. The job was in an entirely new city, which added a sense of adventure. And I was getting paid quite handsomely.

Astonishingly, just two years later, I would find myself working in an even bigger city, with a ‘hipper’ company, and a cushier job, all the while receiving an even larger pay check (40% higher). One would think such outcomes would lead to higher levels of happiness and fulfillment for a person.

Oddly; this was not the case for me. I had this nagging feeling inside of me at the time. It was this internal sense that I wasn’t living up to my potential. I just wasn’t fulfilled with what I was doing. Maybe you can relate.
